I hate global warming!

It's already mid-January and we are still short of snow. We did have some couple weeks ago but it only lasted for a few days. Since then it's been grey and dull...And I can't stand that! Don't get me wrong. I did enjoy the mildness of London's winter last year. But that was more to do with a refreshing change than anything else. Beside it's not that dark in London anyway - at the moment we have around six hours of daylight. Lacking of snow makes it almost unbearable.

I have never been a winter person in a sense I would really enjoy all the winter sports and all the other stuff related to it such as getting dressed warmly. I cannot bear the feeling of Michelin man: when you have so many layers of clothes on it makes it difficult to move freely. One of my early memories is standing in a hall way while my mum is trying to get me inside a winter overalls. It was all good beside the fact I loved skirts (especially pink ones:). And skirts don't go too well with overalls...

So why on earth I'm longing for snow when I really don't wanna get dressed properly and spend my days outside? Well, it has something to do with light. A bit of snow makes all the difference: you might even be able to distinguish the day from the night. It's something that keeps people sane and healthy throughout the long winter. It's slower down all the hustle and bustle in the cities and makes a forest seems like magical.

So this is my top 5 for snowy things:

1. Sledging down the hill
2. Making snow angels
3. Walking through a snowy, quiet park in the evening
4. Cross-country skiing with my grandpa's old wooden skis
5. Building a snow man

Now I'm just waiting someone to send me some snow to play with. Anyone?
